Just in the exit of the Ria of Muros, rises the Mount Louro, like a colossal granite watchtower. On the side, the dunes separate the lagoon of fresh water of the solitary sandbanks of Area Maior. Migratory birds area, it is possible to observe them from several strategically placed points. In the pine grove that separates Area Maior of the beach of Lari?here is a leisure area with barbecues and stones tables. The northwind predominance, is ideal for the practice of the surfing and windsurfing.
Beaches of crystalline waters and the thinnest sand, in many cases almost virgin, all along the coastal line beginning for the East with the cove of Esteiro, Tal, Abelleira, Serres, Muros and Louro, being those of San Francisco and Ancoradoiro the most visited of the municipality, it is necessary to add to this, the natural conditions, the presence of leafy pine groves, also in both cases with campings.
The area where the beach of San Francisco is located was known a few years ago with the name of Lugar de Fomento, denomination that has his origin in three salt factories that here were installed.

Follow the C-550 from Muros to Fisterra, then, leave behind Louro approximately after 3 km to take the detour (signposted) to the left.
